Chris has a Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling and is licensed in Illinois and Kansas as a Licensed Professional Counselor (L.P.C.). He attended Trinity International University in Deerfield, IL (near Chicago) to get his mental health counseling degree. His undergraduate education was through William Jewell College in Liberty, MO, as well as Oxford Overseas Study Course, Oxford, UK, and his degree was in honors history.
His internship was with Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago in their HIV/AIDS program, in which he gained valuable experience working with people from all walks of life from down-on-their-luck veterans to those who owned their own businesses.
He enjoys working with people through anxiety, depression, trauma, and communication issues within families. He is looking forward to conducting several group sessions for people facing a variety of issues, and he will be forming short-term groups on a regular basis. Chris is comfortable working with clients who self-identify as LGBTQ. He has also had the opportunity to work with clients who have a commitment to Christ but who are struggling with some aspect of sexuality (from self-perception to attraction to behavior).
Chris also has specific training in the Prolonged Exposure treatment of PTSD, and he received training for counseling children and families through bullying and child abuse.
