Chris has a Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling and is licensed in Kansas as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). He attended Trinity International University in Deerfield, IL to get his mental health counseling degree. His undergraduate education was at William Jewell College in History.
His career at Heritage now spans over 5 years, and he is grateful to be part of the Heritage family!
He enjoys working with people through anxiety, depression, trauma, and communication issues within families. He also works with people on OCD, ADHD, and helping them with correcting old diagnoses that may have covered up what is really going on underneath–often he sees people who’ve had a thin bandage over a gaping psychological wound for a long time. He helps gain a more accurate diagnosis and treat the root cause rather than gloss over it. It can take more time, but it sometimes helps clients to gain better outcomes.
Chris is comfortable working with clients who self-identify as part of the LGBTQ community. He has also had the opportunity to work with clients who have a commitment to Christ but who are struggling with some aspect of sexuality (from self-perception to attraction to behavior).
Chris also counsels people specifically with PTSD, as well as children and families through bullying and child abuse situations.
