Joyce Larson is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with Heritage Family Counseling Services. She earned her Masters Degree from Friends University and has a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Management from Wichita State University.
Joyce uses a holistic approach with each person, considering their physical, emotional, spiritual, vocational, financial, relational, and recreational balance. Joyce’s approach has been described by clients and co-therapists as warm and compassionate as well as practical. She believes that when people are able to live out of their strengths and make decisions congruent with the person who they want to become and the life that they desire to have, they will experience a more purposeful, satisfying, and joyful life.
Joyce especially enjoys working with couples, families, and individuals suffering from relational difficulties, food addictions, sexual addictions, grief and loss, anxiety, and job dissatisfaction. Joyce can assist clients with identity development, conflict resolution, stress management, spiritual formation, and life coaching. She has experience working with special populations including combat veterans suffering from PTSD, immigrants and their children, adoptive families, and business professionals. With her background in management and business consulting, she is passionate about discussing issues such as work-life balance, difficult relationships within the work culture, and finding the best job fit.
Joyce is a trained facilitator of Prepare-Enrich, a pre-marital and marital program to enrich couple relationships, and Couples’ Communication, a program to help couples improve how they communicate with one another.
Joyce maintains her personal inspiration by enjoying daily adventures with her husband, trying new foods and experiencing different cultures, playing the keyboard, and devoting herself to lifelong learning and teaching.
