EmilyWalter.jpg

Emily is currently earning her Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy through Abilene Christian University. She has also received her Bachelor's in Family Science from Oklahoma Christian University and has had experience with working with families, parents, and caregivers below the poverty line set goals to achieve positive outcomes. She also has many years of experience in working with children in various capacities to work on positively developing their education, constructive behaviors and spirituality.

Emily has a deep desire to allow her clients to feel heard and seen just as Jesus hears and sees us. Her aim is to help families flourish, marriages prosper, and individuals recognize their inherent worth in who they are purposely designed to be. Emily will aid clients in setting strength-based goals, developing skills to enhance relationship building, and by reframing negative narratives in order to promote positive change.

Outside of therapy, Emily enjoys time with her husband and son. She loves a good game night with friends and family (she may be a little competitive). Emily is also very passionate about music; she sings, plays the piano, guitar and violin, and she often enjoys song-writing. Emily believes music can be a very therapeutic way to express emotion. As Hans Christian Andersen puts it, "Where words fail, music speaks."
